Resources or Where Do I Find the Answers?

Resources have become more available in recent years to broaden the understanding of the changing health conditions of the elderly, limitations and what comes next. The internet supplemented by local libraries are opening better channels of information through directories, books, and search engines.

AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) is one of the most prominent publisher for elder living and elder affairs. A major network of information and providers is available for your use including some of the hard questions, evaluation procedures, and the hard decisions. Call them or go on-line at www.AARP.org to see what is available and the benefit of becoming a member.

Government agencies such as Social Security offer booklets for your use as well as articles on specific subjects that might be helpful through the government printing office. Check the internet or your local phone book.

Hospital social services, medical research universities and medical schools offer in depth articles on evaluations, observations, some of them are posted on the internet.

Organizations and associations familiar with the challenges of specific problems and diseases can offer helpful information along with possible programs that might be available to assist in care management.

As we develop useful information we'll keep making it available.
